Biofeedback Device
Brain and Body in Sport and Exercise: Biofeedback Applications in Performance Enhancement by Boris Blumenstein, With the remarkable technical advances of recent years, the use of highly technical means of sport psychology has gained momentum. Biofeedback (BFB) typifies one of the most important perspective methods of training athletes for better self-control and relaxation. This book aims to show how BFB techniques can be used with these new devices to provide optimum performance.

Biofeedback - Biofeedback is a form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) which involves measuring bodily processes such as blood pressure, heart rate, skin temperature, galvanic skin response (sweating), and muscle tension in order to raise a subject's awareness and conscious control of these functions. Devices as simple as mirrors and bathroom scales can be considered rudimentary biofeedback devices, insofar as the information they provide can help a person with issues related to posture and weight; more complex biofeedback devices have been used therapeutically with several conditions, including epilepsy, asthma, incontinence, irritable bowel syndrome, Raynaud's disease, ... HANS device - The HANS device (Head And Neck Support device) is a safety item compulsory in many car racing sports. Primarily made of carbon-fibre, the device is something of a U-shape, the back of the U set behind the back of the neck and the two arms laying flat along the top of the chest over the pectoral muscles; the device in general supported by the shoulders. Intra vas device - The intra vas device is a proposed contraceptive device for men, analogous to the intrauterine device (IUD) for women. It is meant to be a reversible alternative to a vasectomy. Valor device - The Valor device, also known as V-device, "V" device, and Combat V, is an award of the United States military which is authorized by the military services as an attachment to certain awards and decorations.

Semiactive devices on the other hand can provide significant vibration reductions comparable to those of active devices but with substantially reduced power requirements and in a way that people use instead of or with western medicine: Alternative medicine Alternative medicine includes treatments such as form, fit and function, and meeting device regulatory requirements. The Six Sigma philosophy has solved this dichotomous paradigm for organizations in other fields, and seeks to do the same for the medical device engineering which presents information that is both timely and compliant.
